Meet the Keynote: Indigo Thomas

Thomas is a Black, queer PTSD surviving veteran, Black, transgender, creator. Her book “The Collection of Colors & Etc.” was an Amazon bestseller dedicated to the women that shaped her transgender womanhood. Holding multiple degrees she is the first Black Director of Communications for TAVA, the Transgender Americans Veteran Association targeting VA healthcare’s inadequacies in healthcare for transgender veterans. Her accolades are too numerous to lift. Self taught she used beating alcoholism, self-harm, and addiction by herself she thinks of herself as channeling through colors. She channels her “Women Made of Iron” as ancestors and martyrs of resistance. Hind Rajab and her great-grandmother, and Joan Rivers to name a few.

She grew her following of over 160,000 on TikTok @ZotheUnbinaried by teaching intersectionality, self-love, and trauma healing using all of her gifts for people. Through comedy she was the first Black trans hostess of Tucson Pride in its over 40 year history. Seeking to move to San Diego and complete her second book “The Book of Spites: Women Made of Iron, How To Use Spites in a Way That Heals”. Going over history and collecting stories of women of history and melding her own life, transgender experience, and the stories of strong women that bested all of their enemies by exceeding them. Her mission is to force people to love themselves and destroy systems together. Her mission is to buy strip malls and abandoned properties and sell them back to the community. Here’s the catch. Each unit is rent to own based on the individual’s income. Once the building is paid off each person in these converted eco-friendly homes. So, when corporations come they property is 16 owners instead of one. As she wants no part she plans to reclaim cities by governments and return it to the people. Marrying her BA in Psychology & Masters of Arts in Social Justice and Human Rights she wants to save the world and leave it better with returning to the water. She lives her life with the motto of Reverend Shirley Caesar. “I can’t sweeten the entire Atlantic Ocean, but I can get a pitcher [of it] and sweeten that.”
